Résumé

A reconfigurable array antenna operates at lower and higher band of 2.45 GHz and 5.8 GHz using Electromagnetic Band Gap (EBG) unit cells is proposed. The unit cell consists of circular ring and circular patched with each connected to the ground using via. The EBG exhibit dual band gap, 2.45 GH and 5.8 GHz. By varying the EBG state in three different configurations, the antenna can be frequency reconfigured to operate at lower band, higher hand or both bands alternately. Copper strips and PIN diode equivalent circuit have been used to observe the performance of the proposed incorporated antenna with EBG. Result in terms of reflection coefficient and radiation patterns are discussed and presented.
