Increasingly needs of practice and know-how in higher education in the new information technology environment case of the microelectronics and nanotechnologies
Résumé
The information technologies are incredibly growing and invade all the domains of the society. The new associated tools are expected to be used in the academic formation such as the Massive Open Online Courses. At the same time, microelectronics and nanotechnologies are increasingly involved in many fields of applications in order to create connected objects. Presently, the challenge for education is first to acquire a good knowledge that can be obtained, at least partially, through tools available on internet that can provide the students with a good knowledge. However, this approach appears more and more insufficient because practice must be given through face-to-face learning in order to better assimilate the knowledge, either by the way of exercises and problem solving, or above all by the know-how learning. Thus the pedagogical approach must evolve in order to adapt the content to these new targets. This approach was adopted by the French network for education in microelectronics and nanotechnologies. After a presentation of the context and of the organization of the network, several examples of new practices concerning all the aspects of the domain, CAD, testing, physical and electrical characterizations, and technological processes, will be presented and discussed. © 2017 IEEE.
