Their syntheses, physico-chemical and photophysical properties and applications as hosts in Phosphorescent Organic Light-Emitting diodes (PhOLEDs) are described through a structure-property relationship approach. Although substitution at position 2 of a SBF core has been widely developed, substitution at position 4 is very recent (less than 10 years) and stills need to be explored. %G English %2 https://univ-rennes.hal.science/hal-01532178/document %2 https://univ-rennes.hal.science/hal-01532178/file/Poriel-Structure-Properties%20Relationship%20Review%20JMCC%202017%204-REVISED.pdf %L hal-01532178 %U https://univ-rennes.hal.science/hal-01532178 %~ UNIV-RENNES1 %~ CNRS %~ INSA-RENNES %~ ENSC-RENNES %~ ISCR %~ SCR_MACSE %~ STATS-UR1 %~ UR1-SPM %~ INC-CNRS %~ UR1-UFR-SPM %~ UR1-HAL %~ UR1-SDLM %~ TEST-UNIV-RENNES %~ TEST-UR-CSS %~ UNIV-RENNES %~ INSA-GROUPE %~ TEST-HALCNRS %~ ANR %~ UR1-MMS %~ TEST2-HALCNRS
