Paying attention or not: influence of professional’s behavior during AAI

Abstract

AAI complex social dynamics may influence potential positive effects but remain difficult to identify. We studied mechanisms underlying interactions in classic and experimental sessions where professional’s attention was focused on the dog and not on the ASD recipient anymore. Professional attentional state clearly influences recipient behaviors. We suggest close examination of the dynamics of AAI and the relative contribution of each participant in the effects of such intervention
