Throughput Capacity Analysis of a Random Multi-User Multi-Channel Network Modeled with Occupancy problem

Résumé

In this paper, we model the random multi-user multi-channel access with the so-called occupancy problem used in probability theory. Furthermore, we combine the latter with the network interference model in order to derive the achievable throughput capacity of such a network. The mathematical developments are illustrated through various simulations results. The proposed model could be particularly relevant in order to analyze the performance of networks where the users are not synchronized in both time and frequency, such as in the context of the internet of things (IoT).
