Scanning Capability of Reconfigurable Plasma Reflector Antenna

Résumé

This paper presents the experimental results of plasma reflector antenna implementation in industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) communication band. A reflector antenna with rounded shape is proposed to collimate beam radiated by an omnidirectional antenna operating at 2.4GHz in particular direction. The smallest scan beam can be maneuvered in 48 degrees step to cover 360 degrees. The measured scanning gain is 9dBi, the side lobe level (SLL) and the cross polarization remain below than -10dBi.
