Electrochemical hydrogen adsorption onto graphene nanosheets.

Résumé

Graphene nanosheets were recently synthesized in large amounts. They provide new features thanks to their high conductivity and unique two-dimensional electronic distribution. Electrochemical hydrogen storage was studied to benefit from this particularity. Large amounts of hydrogen electrosorbed were observed up to 0.61 wt% at ambient pressure and temperature. These amounts of adsorption were higher than those of ordered porous carbons, CMK-3, despite no microporosity. Enhanced interactions between the dihydrogen molecules and the surface of graphene were thus ventured to explain our experimental results.
