Expert knowledge evaluation and statistical validation of weight of evidence modelling and weighted logistic regression for landslide susceptibility assessment in alpine environment

Résumé

The objective of this study is to compare the two methodologies on a catchment located in the French South Alps, in order to obtain susceptibility maps at 1/10 000 scale. Each step is detailed, emphasizing advantages and drawbacks of each method. For the WofE modelling technique a specific strategy to reduce the conditional dependence problem is applied. Then, the procedure to compare the two models is discussed. It is based on a statistical validation of the different results against on spatial field observations. Results are criticized by expert knowledge in order to assess the capacity of the two models to predict future landslides occurrences.
